The Czech Philharmonic, in its 130th season, presents subscription series A, B, an extended series C, and four special concerts. Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov will be joined throughout the season by Principal Guest Conductors Jakub Hrůša and Simon Rattle. Pianist Evgeny Kissin will take on the role of Artist-in-Residence, while Bryce Dessner will become the orchestra's first-ever Composer-in-Residence.
This season’s orchestral series blends tradition with bold choices—featuring just three large symphonies, a range of shorter works, and iconic pieces like Mozart’s Requiem and Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring. Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov leads two of the programmes.
Series B opens with Giovanni Antonini and features conductors including Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov, Antonio Pappano and Jakub Hrůša. Among the soloists are Evgeny Kissin, Víkingur Ólafsson and Nicola Benedetti. The season spans styles from Baroque to the 21st century.
In its 130th season, Subscription Series C expands to five concerts and introduces a new tradition: four performances by the Czech Philharmonic and one by a top international guest. This season, the series concludes with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Antonio Pappano.
The season begins with Opening concerts conducted by Chief Conductor Semyon Bychkov. Pianist Seong-Jin Cho returns as soloist in Ravel’s Piano Concerto, and the orchestra continues its Tchaikovsky project with a performance of the Fifth Symphony.
In the 130th season, audiences are invited to attend five public rehearsals. Each regular rehearsal begins with a brief introduction by a member of the orchestra, followed by the music itself—entirely shaped by the conductor in real time.
