Orchestral Academy

The Czech Philharmonic, like other leading orchestras around the world, is interested in educating the next generation of top musicians who may join its ranks in the future. That is why the Orchestral Academy has been established since the 2012/2013 season. Its members are involved in rehearsals, concerts, recording projects and tours of the Czech Philharmonic, playing educational and chamber concerts, learning from leading orchestra players and gaining invaluable experience.

Why to be a member of the Orchestral Academy –
the experience of our graduates:

“The biggest benefit for me has been to get to know the orchestra really up close, to watch the professionals at work and learn, to be inspired by the amazing conductors and soloists, to experience the wide range of repertoire.

“It was great to be mentored by a major horn player in this orchestra.”

“The most rewarding experience for me was playing in the group and in the orchestra as a whole. Working with sound, color, dynamics, etc.”

“The biggest benefit which I have had is the experiences. To be a part of the tour of this orchestra meant lot of things to me, especially playing at a major hall in various cities and countries. And with the career of being a part of the academist of Czech Philharmonic, I was able to receive many more audition invitations from professional orchestras in Germany and other countries.”

“I consider the greatest benefit to be the opportunity to learn from Philharmonic musicians, either through consultations or by playing together at the podium and under the guidance of world-class conductors.”

“Thanks for a great experience, I was overall very satisfied with the Academy.”

“Thank you so much for everything, my time at the CF Academy was one of the best times of my life! :)”
