We will be introduced to the different sections of our orchestra. And so we will hear, for example, a part of a piece that the eighteen-year-old Josef Suk was instructed by his teacher Antonín Dvořák before the holidays in 1892: "Suk, now it is summer - so do something joyful, so that it is not always those grandiose things in C minor." The result is the incredibly lush String Serenade in E flat major. But we also get a glimpse into Dvořák's Wind Serenade and works by Aaron Copland and Miloslav Kabeláč. Then we'll be ready for our entire orchestra to perform a selection from Igor Stravinsky's beautiful ballet music, The Firebird.
The series is prepared for 8th and 9th grade students of primary schools and students of secondary schools.
