Czech Philharmonic, Jakub Hrůša • Dvořák Prague Festival

Výstaviště — area in front of the Industrial Palace 1 hour 40 minutes Price from 250 to 3890 Kč

This concert is an attempt to reconstruct the premiere of Gustav Mahler's Symphony No.7 from 1908. It is true that almost nothing remains of the buildings and pavilions built for the Jubilee Exhibition, but the power of the music remains. A successful premiere was held at the Prague Exhibition Grounds, performed by the combined orchestras of the Czech Philharmonic and the former New German Theatre in Prague under the baton of the composer. It was its members who, after the post-war expulsion from Czechoslovakia, laid the foundations of today's Bamberger Symphoniker in Bavaria.
