The ceremonial opening concert of the Smetana Litomyšl Festival is titled Hommage à Smetana – A Tribute to Smetana. The programme will present the founder of Czech classical music as a composer of a broad range of works, and not just of The Moldau and The Bartered Bride. He will also be shown to be a figure of worldwide importance.
