Subscription Series II
Conductor, composer, double bass player and pianist – this season’s curator Petr Popelka can claim all these titles and will showcase the many facets of his artistry to Czech Chamber Music Society audiences this year. Series II launches with Popelka’s own Clarinet Quintet and the fourth concert in the series will feature him as double bassist.
As part of cycle II, the Janáček Quartet will present their interpretation of the late and now iconic work by Leoš Janáček. We will also hear from the Pražák Quartet and the fast-establishing winners of the 2023 ČSKH Prize, Trio Bohémo. January's concert will then belong to the Czech Philharmonic Wind Harmony, which, under the direction of Ondřej Vrabec, will play a varied programme of works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Aaron Copland and Gustav Holst.
