Subscription Series I
To celebrate 130 years of the Czech Chamber Music Society, Series I launches with a concert featuring the same programme presented at the very first CCMS concert almost 130 years ago to the day. This series offers the most diverse programming ranging from the Renaissance to music written by composers living today.
The Year of Czech Music will not be overlooked with performances lined up of works by Dvořák, Smetana and Fibich. The Trio Zimbalist, made up of Curtis Institute graduates, make their Czech Republic debut with the CCMS, and Rudolfinum audience favourite Josef Špaček. Curator Petr Popelka’s recital with Adam Plachetka promises to be a special experience and audiences can also look forward to a performance by the Czech Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra led by the Czech Philharmonic’s concertmaster Jan Mráček. The series concludes with a performance combining music and words: Kryštof Harrant’s travelogue presented by Saša Rašilov and the Cappella Mariana.
