Early Evening Concerts
Czech music and music of the 20th century performed by both established and up-and-coming Czech artists is the focus of this year’s Early Evening Concerts. The series takes place in the intimate setting of the Rudolfinum’s Suk Hall.
The series opens with one of the Czech Republic’s leading ensembles, the Pavel Bořkovec Quartet. Audiences can also look forward to two evenings of music combining voices and instruments: Janáček’s iconic Diary of One Who Disappeared performed by tenor Jaroslav Březina, alto Jana Hrochová and pianist Jan Dušek; and an evening of music from the Classical period by mezzo-soprano Markéta Cukrová and pianist Miroslav Sekera. The series ends on a more idiosyncratic note when Martin Opršál and his Percussion Ensemble of students from the Janáček Academy of Performing Arts present an evening of audience-friendly compositions written for percussion.
