The prize of the Czech Chamber Music Society, which has been traditionally awarded since 1981, went to the Belfiato Quintet. The award was presented in the Dvořák Hall by Pavel Kysilka, Chairman of the Czech Chamber Music Society, together with the General Director of the Czech Philharmonic David Mareček, and the dramaturg of the Czech Chamber Music Society Radek Křižanovský.
"The Belfiato Quintet is one of the most established Czech chamber ensembles today. After several years when the Czech Chamber Music Society Award was not awarded, the choice fell logically on this ensemble, which will rightly expand the number of winners of this important award."
The award of the Czech Chamber Music Society is given to ensembles whose members are on average no older than 35 years. The Belfiato Quintet consists of graduates of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague - Oto Reiprich, Jan Souček, Jiří Javůrek, Jan Hudeček, and Kateřina Javůrková. The ensemble has already released three albums with the Suphraphone label and regularly wins awards at international performance competitions, such as the ARD Competition in Munich, Prague Spring Festival, and Concertino Praga.
The award of the Czech Chamber Music Society also includes a concert by the Belfiato Quintet, which audience can look forward to next season.
